Join us Wednesday, June 26 from 11:30 – 1:00 for our June program entitled Barriers and Burdens: Crisis Communications featuring Melody Daniel from the Arkansas Office of Emergency Management.
WHAT: Join NWA PRSA Wednesday, June 26 as we learn the ins and outs of keeping the lines of communications open on a state and federal level through natural disasters and other events, when accurate and timely information could save lives.
Melody Daniel is the Public Information Officer for the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM), and most recently was assigned as ADEM’s representative during the flooding of the Arkansas River. She began her career with ADEM in April 2016. In her capacity in public affairs she is responsible for community outreach, public education, and external communication.
Melody has more than 18 years of military service in both the Army and Air National Guard including experience in aviation, operational planning, response, and intelligence. During her time with the military she has responded to multiple natural disasters including ice storms, forest fires, tornadoes and Hurricanes Katrina and Gustav. Additionally, she has been deployed twice to the Middle East as a UH-60 Blackhawk Crew Chief. She currently serves as the State Public Affairs Officer (Air) in the Air National Guard. Melody is a member of the National Information Officer Association and PRSA – Little Rock Chapter.
Melody holds a bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security from American Military University and is currently working on a (brutal) 60-hour dual Master’s Degree. She and her husband, Lyle, reside in Russellville.

COST: $15 for PRSA members and PRSSA students and $25 for nonmembers. (Cost includes program and lunch.)
